The Hercules 3D Prophet III Ti 500 is another card that should find its way to the retail shelves in quite some numbers. Hercules' retail presence has decreased a bit recently, giving way to competing cards manufactured by PNY and VisionTek. Although we could find a few online site offering the Hercules 3D Prophet III Ti 500, the numbers were not up to where we have come to expect from Hercules.
The Hercules 3D Prophet III Ti 500 maintains the same features that we have seen in other cards in the 3D Prophet series. The card's core is cooled via an orb style circular heatsink/fan combination that is connected to the GeForce3 Ti 500 core via thermal grease. The cooling solution was able to get the core temperature down to 138 degrees Fahrenheit, or slightly better than average. The RAMsinks are attached to the memory using thermal tape.
Feature-wise, the Hercules 3D Prophet III Ti 500 includes both TV-out as well as DVI-out. The TV-out chip used is the Conexant CX2587, while DVI-out is provided by a Silicon Image TMDS.
